Our horseman Morten Djupvik also achieved excellent results at Jumping Etten-Leur with our horses.

Breeding is not a gamble.............

May 2007

At Concours International Hippique Eindhoven our horseman was again successful with Casino en Sparta.

Casino became 10th in the Derby A class 1.50 mtr Jump-Off  FEI with an extremely quick round, an excellent result for this combination attending this categorie for the very first time.

Also Sparta booked good results, this combination ended 6th at the CSI-3* 2 phases AA class 1.35 mtr  FEI with an 0-round!!

Quasimodo Z  rises the indexes!

The stallion Quasimodo Z proves its pedigree more than ever. After an excellent  indoor-season he rises the indexes. At the Zangersheide-ranking he switches from 50 to number 20! Despite the fact he only attended the indoor-sport season.

His mother Caloma Z (elite, sport jumping) represents 168 points breading value for jumping off-springs. She’s classified on a shared 4th place.

After some research we found that her son Quasimodo Z, although the KWPN does not publicize this, also represents a 168 points breeding value.

In this category Quasimodo Z has only 4 stallions placed above him (Casantos 174, Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve 173, Wittinger VDL 173 en Heartbreaker 171).

His father,  Quidam de Revel has 166 points! This is exclusive compared to

his age and the fact that his offspring sport results are not included yet.

This means high expectations for the coming future:

Breeding is not a gamble, but the right combination of performing genes!!!

extremely good represented, just like the up going shoulder jump!

January 2007

25-01-2007
On Thursday the 25th of January we had Oldenburg’s follow-up inspection. Our young star Zento (F Quasimodo Z) was approved for public stud service. Good things go fast...........

The stallion has yet to become 3 years old and is already approved at 3 studbooks:
AES – NRPS and Oldenburg!

21-01-2007
Sunday the 21st of January, was the final day of the National Concours Indoor Deurne. Stable rider Morten Djupvik won the losers’ final 1.30 mtr. with Bessemeind’s Chuck Z

Grand Prix Deurne was also a victory for a combination from Bessemeind Stables. Morten claimed the 1.50 mtr. with Bessemeind’s 9-year-old breeding stallion Casino. The jump-off consisted of thick oxers and long lines. This was perfect for Casino with his unlimited strength and powerful gallop.

17-01-2007
Today the stallion inspection committee and the veterinary surgeon of the NRPS performed an advisory inspection on our stallion Zento (Quasimodo Z x mother of Dobels Zento). This was possible, because the stallion was already inspected by the AES.
The stallion inspection committee and the veterinary surgeon have given the green light for this stallion. This means that we now have approval for public stud service under the flag of NRPS.
Several studbooks have shown interest, which is no great wonder considering his quality and his sublime pedigree. To be continued, as we say: breeding is not a .................
16-01-2007
Quasimodo Z stood the KWPN test of his sporting achievements !
Good news for KWPN breeders in the Netherlands. The KWPN has formally announced that, considering Quasimodo Z’s sporting achievements, his offspring will be exempt from the IBOP examination or ETMP test for entry in the studbook.
Since the stallion succeeded for the x-ray test and cornage examination, and therefore also complies with the physiology requirement, there are no more requirements to be met for entry in the stud book of 3-year-old mares.
In other words, if you breed with Quasimodo Z and a mare foal is born, she will be registered in register A of the KWPN. As a 3-year-old, the mare can be offered, without any further examination, for entry in the stud book and can, for instance, directly become “STER”.
Apart from practical problems, we also save costs for x-ray tests, cornage examination and ETPM test or IBOP examination.
So it is as though Quasimodo Z is approved by the KWPN with an administrative difference concerning entry in the stud book.
Once more it is proven that only the best is good enough, and our slogan once more applies: "Breeding is not a gamble, but the right combination of performing genes".

08-01-2007
Last Friday and Saturday, the NRPS held her follow-up inspection and second viewing. Up to now the selection rounds have provided fourteen riding horse stallions for the third viewing on January 27. One of the lucky ones was our (still) nameless son of Quasimodo Z x Farn.
To be continued......

December 2006

Last Tuesday, 12th of December, the first viewing took place of the jump stallions.
We participated with our stallion Zento (Quasimodo Z x Caletto II) a half-brother of Dobel's Cento. As the horse newspaper wrote, he was the hero of the day. Quotation: "The black stallion had an excellent jump with the body upwards, bent his fore-leg well and basculated efficiently". So it was only fair that he was sent to Den Bosch.

Bessemeind`s paarden zetten prestatielijn door in Hengelo en Ermelo

Our stable rider Morten Djupvik got the horses to jump really well.
At the Expo-On-Horse in Hengelo the stallions were once again jumping perfectly. Quasimodo Z achieved double zero again on Friday in a 1.40 class, which gave him a 14th position. On Saturday he kept the zero again, and placed himself for the final middle tour.

Hengelo also saw the return of his mother Caloma Z. After a long period of recovery from an injury, she jumped zero on Friday in a 2-phase 1.35 m and ended on a good 10th position in a class consisting of 66 participants. Of course, she still has to acquire match experience and become a little stronger, but this gives good hope for the future.

The highlight of Sunday can only be the Grand Prix of the city of Hengelo. Our studhorse Bessemeind`s Casino (inspected by AES and Zangersheide) only just missed the GP victory. In a class consisting of 62 participants he ran double zero and only just became second on 0.3 seconds from the winner, the Russian Mikhail Safronov riding the Holsteiner gelding Common Sense (f. Candillo). As the horse newspaper already wrote on Sunday evening in the stallions newsletter of Sunday, the stallion was jumping wonderfully. Not surprising, considering his mother line. His mother is a half-sister of the stallion Landioso and a full sister of the Oldenburger champion stallion Le Coeur. During the mare test she herself scored nines for jumping under the saddle and free jumping.

On Friday we had the first viewing for the NRPS stallion inspection. Our 2½ year old, still nameless stallion (Quasimodo Z x Farn), bred by mister Socquet in Kalmthout-Belgium, was referred to the second viewing, which will take place on the 6th of January 2007 in Ermelo. He measures 1.68 m, is correct, stands very well in the rectangular model, has a long neck, jumps with a lot of power and is a real father animal.

Once again our saying applies: “Breeding is not a gamble, but the right combination of performance genes”.

November 2006

Bessemeind stallions performed excellently at JIM Maastricht.
Last weekend the stallions Bessemeind`s Casino and Bessemeind`s Quasimodo Z, ridden by our Norwegian stable rider Morten Djupvik, gave an excellent performance at the JIM in Maastricht.
Bessemeind`s Casino ran the big tour (1m45/1m50). On Thursday he reached a neat 5th position in the Hoefslag Prix and on Friday a 7th position in the Horse International Prix.

Bessemeind’s Quasimodo Z ran on Thursday to a neat 10th position in the Horse International Prix and on Friday to an 11th position of 83 participants(!) in the Hoefslag Prix. Both matches were an international 1m40 class.

But the Mecc Prix, International Jumping Competition Final B Group on Sunday, crowned it all. This is a table A 1m45 with jump off. Bessemeind`s Quasimodo Z remained faultless in the basic track and jumped perfectly. In the jump-off he showed he could be steered well and that he is quick. Again he jumped for a 10 and ended on a great 2nd place. An excellent performance, considering he is only 7 years old, has not participated in competitions during the full 2006 breeding season and is by far the youngest in the field. This gives us a lot of confidence for the future, and once again our slogan applies: Breeding is not a gamble, but the right combination of performance genes!

APRIL 2006

Very successful stallion show.
Yesterday, 28th of April, we had our annual stallion show at Academy Stal Bartels. We have good reasons to say this was a successful evening. Casino ran as a dressage horse, Tygo jumped with a lot of conviction, Chuck z showed he was his own self again and that in due time he will be able the run the big test …and then came Quasimodo Z. Once again he managed to convince friend and foe. Both in his offspring and in his own jumps. The beautiful two-year-old from a Furore mare impressed with his unbelievable good type and condition. In spite of the fact that one day before the event he was taken away from his team of 12 horses. It did nothing to him and he was as level-headed as a 6-year-old sporting horse. There was spontaneous applause for the three 3-year-old stallions during free jumping, what a class and what a future. The four-year-old Quasimodo jumped really well under the saddle. More spontaneous applause. We would like to thank the owners of the horses, who bought them at the Bessemeind stables: Omer Karaevli and Wegenlijnbedrijf Markeer b.v. We also would like to thank Omer Karaevli, Leon Kuipers and our own stable rider Morten Djupvik for their very professional introduction of the horses.
Highlight was the performance of Morten with `our` Quasimodo Z. He once again jumped for a 10 and once again showed that he has a wonderful technique, attitude, speed and unlimited strength, see the following photograph.

The result was a standing ovation

MARCH 2006.

Fully in accordance with the policy of Bessemeind Stables, the mare Caloma II Z was bought from the breeder mister Laamens from Duizel.
He is also the breeder of Quasimodo Z.
This 5-year-old is a full sister of our top mare Caloma Z, the mother of Quasimodo Z.
Caloma II Z is carrying from Untouchable ( Hors la Loi x Heartbreker ).
After dropping the foals, the mare will be made saddle tame, released in the sport and used for embryo production, just like her sister. This will be taken care of by our own Gynaecological Horse Centre Bessemeind b.v.

We also own the mother of both sisters, Itoloma. This year she is expecting a foal from Chuck Z.
Apart from the abovementioned Lomas there are another 3 Loma mares on our company: Maloma (Glenndridge x Ahorn), Toloma (No Limit x Renville) and Aqua di Loma SB (Quasimodo Z x Glenndridge = Maloma).

We are also rearing another 4 ~Loma~ stallions: the 2-year-old Zindiloma SB (Gem of India x Libero H = Itoloma), the yearling A Little Gem of India SB (Gem of India x Carthago Z = Caloma Z), Adaggio di Loma SB(Quasimodo Z x Glenndridge = Maloma) and Astrix di Loma SB ( Indorado x Libero H = Itoloma).

MARCH 2006
Quasimodo Z is still performing superbly in sports!
Today, March 16, he reached a wonderful second place in Zwolle, by maintaining double zero in the Zwolle International Prijs.
He only had to acknowledge superiority of the stallion Chalan, under Gerd Sosath, with 0,03 sec..
A total of 43 combinations started.

JANUARY 2006:
Our extremely interestingly bred Quasimodo Z keeps performing well in sports.
Wednesday on the 11th of January 2006 he became second in the stallion competition KWPN/NHS in the class z/zz. As one of the few inspected stallions he remained in Goes in order to participate in an international contest Indoor-Zeeland, because we are carefully preparing him for his international career.
On Thursday and Friday he remained faultless, became 12th and 16th respectively and placed himself for the final.
Here he made a jump error and ended on the 16th place.
All in all a very successful week that was perfect for his education for the important work, just like his mother Caloma Z.

JANUARY 2006:
As you could read in the press, our horses are doing quite well internationally at this moment.
In Mechelen, for instance, our (just 7-year-old) stallion Bessemeind's Casino became 5th in a 1.40 m. track and became 16th in the grand prix.

After the mare Bessemeind's Caloma Z raised a stallion foal in 2005, she is now again fully active in her sports career. After a very good show in Maastricht, she was also very successful in Mechelen.
In the World Cup this mare had a beautiful 14th position.

Bessemeinds Quasimodo Z, son of Caloma Z, was also present in Mechelen. In the class "Young Stallions, 6 and 7 years old" he reached a beautiful 6th position. This stallion was also honoured as the best bred stallion by Zangersheide.

The performances of Quasimodo Z did not remain unnoticed at the NRPS.
For his sports performances the stud book rewarded the stallion by giving him the title "Performance, Sports", which, considering the age of the stallion, is remarkable.

STALLION MOTHER WINS MAASTRICHT

Maastricht, November 2005:
Bessemeind`s Caloma Z (f. Carthago Z) together with her rider Morten Djupvik (Nor) showed at the JIM in Maastricht that breeding is not a gamble. The mother of the inspected stallion Bessemeind`s Quasimodo Z has won the Hoefslag Prix (1m50) on Thursday. She was the only one who maintained double zero and jumped with a lot of strength and quality. The fact that she had a foal (f. Gem of India) at her feet this year, who was weaned off only 5 weeks ago, adds even more colour to her victory and says something about the quality and attitude of the 10-year-old mare.
JIM had already started well for Bassemeind stables from Gilze Brabant. The only 7 years old stud Bessemeind`s Casino (f. Cash), inspected by Zangersheide and AES, also maintained a double zero in the Horse International Prix, a 1m40 class, and ended on a beautiful 5th place.

BESSEMEIND'S CASINO ON FIFTH PLACE AT JIM 2005

24 November 2005:
On the first day of Jumping Indoor Maastricht, Morten Djupvik managed to reach a fifth place in the "Horse International Prix" with Bessemeinds Casino.
In the jump-off he ran a faultless round in 31.26 sec, and kept 40 or more combinations behind him.

BESSEMEIND'S CASINO SHOWS HIS CLASS DURING W.C.

Last week (22 to 25 September 2005) the world championships for young horses were held in Lanaken (B).
Our 7-year-old stallion Bessemeind’s Casino (inspected by Zangersheide and AES) showed his best side and ended Thursday on a 19th place. On Friday he won the Credit Suisse price (Second qualification for 7-years old) and he reached a neat sixth position in the final on Sunday.
Last year this stallion reached a beautiful fifth place at this event.

YOUNG QUASIMODO RESERVE CHAMPION Z-FESTIVAL

On Friday the 5th of August, Z-festival 2005 was held in Lanaken (B). One of the events were the foal championships.
The stallion foal Quidam B Z was appointed reserve champion out of a selection of 125 stallion foals.

This foal is a son of our stallion Quasimodo Z.
The mother is a descendant of Ramiro Z x Renville x Almé Z and is also expecting a foal from Quasimodo Z in 2006.
The honoured foal excels in type and movement, but especially in the looseness of his whole body.
We congratulate the well-known breeder Cees Bruers from Alphen with this excellent result!
